UNHAPPY childhood experiences are usually the cause of sexual deviance, according to a clinical, counselling and educational psychologist.
Dr Alexander Lo Chi-wah, head of Baptist College's careers and counselling services, said the behaviour exhibited by Hon might be because of problems in dealing with women when he was a child.
He said a person who was, for instance, controlled or hurt by his mother or older sister, might become sexually deviant.
He might want to control and hurt other females when he grew up, Mr Lo said.
''Work or study pressure and even the coming of 1997 are only minor factors in influencing one's psychological development. But these factors, along with the long-term unhappiness during childhood, would help trigger sexual desire and excitement,'' he said.
He said such types of sexual deviance could often be cured through discussions with psychiatrists and friends.
