A SCHIZOPHRENIC ''cageman'', accused of setting fire to his own bunk bed in Mongkok, is to face trial in the District Court in October. Leung Kwok-keung, 37, appeared to change his mind at yesterday's hearing, entering a plea of not guilty when the arson charge was put to him. He is accused of damaging premises in Cheung Wong Road on May 10, with the intention of endangering the lives of occupants Wong Sha-nang, Law Kang, Ng Wai-ping and Yuen Chi-fok or being reckless as to whether their lives would be endangered. Defence lawyer J. Pang told the court Leung's plea was contrary to his instructions. The accused shouted from the dock that he disputed having endangered the lives of others. Leung was deemed fit to plead in a psychiatric report. Judge Caird remanded Leung in Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre until his trial on October 18.
