SOURCING quality staff for exhibition activities is becoming increasingly important business for executive search agency Jigsaw Recruitment Ltd. It is one of Hong Kong's newest but fastest growing agencies. ''We viewed it originally as an extension of the services we offer to our major multinational clients for whom we provide permanent staff,'' said managing director Clare Allcock. ''Many of them needed temporary staff for events in Hong Kong at which they were exhibitors and we wanted to help. Now, it has become a business in itself.'' Jigsaw assists organisers with specific requirements. It had built up an extensive database of personnel whose attitude, professional presentation and willingness to work long hours made them ideal for work at exhibitions, Ms Allcock said. Hong Kong had excellent facilities and was competing with other Asian cities to become the premier exhibition and conference centre. ''One of the things that keeps it at the top of the pack is the excellent services provided in communications, hotels and - where we come in - experienced exhibition staff,'' Ms Allcock said. Staff recruitment in this area would continue to grow. ''As China becomes more and more focused on international business, we see Hong Kong's strategic location as making it an even more logical choice for business conferences,'' she said.
