I READ with horror a report in Wednesday's South China Morning Post, that a film called The Sweet Smell of Success, portraying the killing of Elaine Luk Yee-ling, was soon to be released.

Producer Bennie Chan Chi-suen even suggested that he did not intend to hurt Ms Luk's family and that other companies would have made the film if he had not.

I do not know what value there is in shooting this film, except that its subject matter might appeal to those cinemagoers with an unsavoury interest in the perverted behaviour of the co-accused, Hon Leung-fong and Phoebe Wong Yim-ping.

I have nothing but contempt for those people who are involved in the production of this film.
