A WOMAN who ran from a peeping Tom in the ladies room of a shopping mall ended up running for election for the Liberal Party.

Former television actress, Hui Yat-wah (left), who runs a property agency in Tai Po's Plover Garden mall, was forced to hide in the nearby Liberal Party branch office after her encounter in the toilets.

The incident occurred in May when she thought she was being watched by a man in a neighbouring cubicle. And her suspicions were proved right when she walked out and met him face to face.

''I was in such a panic that I didn't know what to do,'' Miss Hui said. ''I was shocked and couldn't even cry out for help.'' She rushed to the Liberal Party office to get help.

''Actually, there were a few peeping Toms in the mall at that time,'' she said.

''There were victims almost every day and the descriptions of the suspects were different.'' She filed a complaint with the mall's management company with some help from the Liberal Party, and eventually the company put locks on the toilets and gave the tenants keys.
