CHAIFA Holdings, a textile manufacturer that sells products under the Playboy brand name, saw a leap of 84 per cent in attributable profit to $26 million for the year ended March 31 this year, compared with $14.16 million the previous year.
Earnings per share were up 80 per cent to 16.67 cents from 9.26 cents and the final dividend was one cent per share.
Turnover grew 62 per cent to $166 million from $102 million.
Chaifa's chairman John Chan Chun-tung attributed the group's turnover and profit growth to the increasing popularity of the Playboy brand name and the group's fast expanding network of retail outlets in China.
Mr Chan says China is the company's biggest market.
Recently, Chaifa secured the licence to use the popular cartoon character Garfield in the manufacturing and selling of garments and accessories in Hong Kong, Macau and China.
