HONG KONG coach George Simpkin - with an eye to tomorrow's (early Thursday morning Hong Kong time) Test against Namibia - has rested his key players for today's match against the African nation's under-23 side. On the bench are backs Isi Tu'ivai, Rodney McIntosh, Stephen Kidd, Justin Weston, Ashley Billington and forwards Rick Shuttleworth, Ashley Jones and Andy Fields. All are definite starters for the Test. Simpkin kept the nucleus of his side to allow Hong Kong to build a solid playing platform. Captain Stuart Krohn will lead from the front, playing his third game on the trot, along with open-side flanker Tony Hunt and second-rower Roger Patterson. Playing for the first time on tour will be tight-head prop Toby Bland and inside centre Keith Gauntlet. Outside centre Paul Reed and fly-half Jamie McKee, who came on as late replacements in Hong Kong's 34-2 win over the Combined Maritzburg XV last Friday, will also play. Vaughan Going will move to full-back with Joe Hancock and Jeff Pipe manning the wings. Krohn reverts to his favoured number eight slot. Dave Lewis will play hooker with Bland and North propping.
