THE wife of former STAR TV executive Edward Bean left Western Court quietly yesterday after she was fined $750 for possessing nearly six grams of cannabis. Jo Fok Ching-yee, 28, freelance photographic producer, refused to comment. Fox was accompanied by her lawyer Jeremy Summers. At her August 6 appearance, at which she pleaded guilty, she took a swing at a photographer with a book outside the court. Magistrate Mary Yuen had heard that Fok voluntarily handed a brown leather box containing cannabis over to officers when Central District's police special duties squad searched the Beans' flat at Caine Road in the early hours of July 9. A hand-rolled cigarette butt containing 0.2 grams of cannabis and a plastic bag with 5.66 grams of the drug were found. The search was made three hours after her husband was caught with 0.02 grams of cocaine mixture in a Lan Kwai Fong nightspot. Bean, who pleaded guilty to possessing a dangerous drug, was fined $1,000 on August 5 at the same court.
