A JEALOUS wife chopped her husband's mistress on the head with a chopper in a restaurant during a meeting to discuss a divorce, the District Court heard yesterday.
Chiang Choi-fan, 40, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and was placed on probation for one year.
The victim, Yeung Kam-han, 29, spent a day in hospital but suffered no permanent harm, Deputy Judge Li Zong-er said.
Miss Yeung and Chiang's husband, Yip Shing-yin, 40, had an ''intimate relationship'', the court heard.
On March 3, Mr Yip telephoned Chiang and arranged a meeting at a restaurant in Choi Wan estate, Kowloon, to discuss a divorce, said prosecuting counsel Daniel Ozorio.
Chiang arrived and asked Mr Yip to leave so she could talk to Miss Yeung alone. She then took a chopper from a bag and chopped Miss Yeung's head.
