TWO hoverferry passengers were injured last night as their Tuen Mun-bound vessel collided with a catamaran 300 metres off Stonecutters Island while the No 3 typhoon signal was hoisted. Forty-five passengers were aboard the Hong Kong Ferry hovercraft from Wan Chai when the accident occurred at 7.40 pm. The catamaran was travelling to its mooring after service. Hoverferry passenger Ho Chun-fat, 36, whose left kneecap was hurt, said: ''It was raining but the vessel was quite stable. ''I was falling asleep and suddenly there was an impact. I lost balance and was almost thrown off my seat.'' Both vessels were slightly damaged on the bow. Mr Ho and a 34-year-old woman passenger, who felt sick, were treated at Queen Mary Hospital and discharged. The hoverferry was towed to Tsing Yi dock, pending investigation by the Marine Department.
