PRIVATE company Infa Telecommunication Group has formed a joint venture with New World Group.
The joint company, New World Telephone, will provide fixed telecommunications network services when Hongkong Telecom's monopoly on local telephone services expire in July next year.
The successful co-operation of Infa and New World in the past has achieved results in customer base growth and an increase in market services.
In 1991, Infa and New World co-operated in the provision of Hong Kong's first personalised paging services. This partnership will, therefore, continue to be sustained, but the two companies have no intention of merging.
Infa is actively involved in seeking equity and technical partnership with a variety of Asian businesses in providing telecommunication products and services.
In 1991, the company pioneered the launch of Asia's first personalised paging services.
