SUCH is the stifling, goldfish-bowl nature of this town that from time to time one needs to get away from Hong Kong in order to keep mind and body intact. At moments like that some of us seek solace by plugging into the global village via CNN, there to seek respite from the territory and its fine citizens. But it seems there is just no getting away. For the other night we were jolted from the couch by the sight of TV mogul Robert Chua staring back at us from the CNN studio in New York. Chua was being interviewed by the news network's veteran presenter Bill Hartley about the programming philosophy of his soon-to-air China Entertainment Television. Leaning forward to give his words maximum impact Chua intoned: 'No sex . . . no violence . . . and no NEWS . . .' Hartley managed to ride that one with a barely discernible gulp.
