NEXT year will be the 10th anniversary of the Hong Kong Management Association's Marketing Awards for Excellence, and the committee is planning some changes to celebrate the decade.
'A lot has happened in Hong Kong business in 10 years, and marketing, as a discipline, has gained a much greater acceptance,' said the chairman of the HKMA's marketing management committee, Irving Koo.
'We really want to take the opportunity to revitalise the awards, and make them relevant for the next 10 years of Hong Kong's further development as a centre for business in the region.' The first thing the committee will do is redesign the logo for the award.
'It is now an adaptation of the HKMA initials but, in future, we want to give the award its own identity, which means a new design to the logo,' said Mr Koo.
He said the HKMA would probably announce a competition for the redesign later this year.
'We realise that although the award has been quite well-known throughout the business community, we want the general public to be more aware of the importance of marketing campaigns.
'Since TVB became joint sponsors in 1989, we have seen public awareness increasing by quite a large extent, but we think we can do even more.
