TOP trainer Patrick Biancone and his Breeders' Cup-winning jockey Eric Legrix can maintain their early-season impetus with classy middle distance performer Forever Ahead (Nap) in tonight's second event at the Happy Valley. I believe this is going to be a great year for the French duo who were on the mark with Sea Of Jasper on the opening day before Biancone completed a spectacular double with 79-1 chance Eastern Saga.

This campaign should stand in stark contrast to a tough last season when Biancone's horses were just too high in the weights. Now, after a spell in the doldrums, they are handicapped to go places. Forever Ahead was a case in point. He struggled in Class Three but managed to prevail late on last season when dropped into Class Four.

The win came over tonight's course and distance and against similar opposition to which he faces here. My friends at Sha Tin tell me that he has been responsible for some smart gallops and will lack nothing in fitness and the small field should enable Eric to slip him in just off the pace where he does his best racing. The Frenchmen can complete a double with Key On in the last.
