MIKE 'Hercules' Weaver battered fellow American Bill Corrigan to easily retain his National Boxing Association (NBA) world heavyweight title with a quick-fire second round TKO at the Macau Forum last night - and he hardly raised a sweat.

The heavily-muscled former World Boxing Association (WBA) champion pounded Corrigan with a short burst of devastating punches in the first and second rounds leaving Corrigan with a badly bloodied nose.

It was Weaver's first defence of the title he won from Bert Cooper in the 'Brawl at the Wall' in Beijing more than a year ago.

Ring side doctors examined Corrigan at the end of the second round and ordered the 12-round fight be stopped tending to a suspected broken nose.

Weaver, 43, impressed the half-empty stadium with his quick hands and enormous punching power which rocked Corrigan seconds into the fight.

The victory raised the ex-marine's record to 36 wins against 10 losses and one draw. It was the champion's 27th knock-out of his career.
