I REFER to the letter headlined, 'Minibus pricing unfair' (South China Morning Post, August 23).
Since the recent fare increase of Green Minibus (GMB) Route 3 in April this year, section fares have been introduced to benefit passengers.
Section fares of $3 and $2 are charged for passengers from Po Shan Road to Conduit Road outside House No 20 and from Conduit Road outside house No 20 to Central.
For journeys towards Po Shan Road, a section fare of $2 is charged at Conduit Road outside House No 11.
Fare plates indicating the full fare and section fare should be displayed both on the windscreen of the vehicle and at the fare box inside the vehicle facing the passengers.
We have reminded the operator to ensure that passengers are adequately informed of the correct fare they should pay when they get on the GMBs and warned him that overcharging passengers is not allowed.
