TAIWAN police plan to offer rewards of up to Taiwan NT$200,000 (about HK$58,000) for information in an attempt to stamp out the island's thriving child prostitution industry, Taiwan officials said yesterday. Civic groups in Taiwan estimate there are between 40,000 and 60,000 prostitutes under the age of 18, some of them sold into prostitution by their parents.
