AN 11-year-old girl was indecently assaulted in a block of flats in Tuen Mun as she headed home from school yesterday. But police played down any possible links with a spate of assaults on young women and a murder during the summer in the same area. The Primary Five student told police she and a young man entered a lift at Hing Cheung House, Tai Hing Estate, at about 6.30 pm. Once the lift doors had closed, the man brandished a 15-centimetre fruit knife at the girl and grabbed her. At the 12th floor, the man forced her out of the lift onto the rear staircase, where he indecently assaulted her, police said. When the girl struggled and shouted for help, the man fled down the stairs. Ip Wing-Sze, 19, was raped and murdered on July 17. No one has been charged with her murder.
