WITH all due respect to Dale Tempest and Spencer Robinson, ATV's larger-than-life sportscaster Charlie Charters found himself teamed up with a commentary team to relish recently.
The towering World Cup anchor man followed up his USA '94 duties by tying the knot with girlfriend Vanessa and embarking on a month-long around-the-world honeymoon. Fiji followed Brisbane, then came a trip to the Rockies, and then a flight from Vancouver to Britain. That flight to London came the day after the Commonwealth Games finished and so it was that the Charters were joined in the First Class cabin by British commentators Barry Davies and David Coleman, World Cup hero Bobby Charlton, Olympic track champions Allan Pascoe and Brendan Foster, and swimmer Adrian Moorhouse.
'I had a horrible feeling Billy Beaumont would come up from the other class and we'd all sit down and play A Question Of Sport,' Charters said.
