'As a testimony to the young and vibrant image that has come to be associated with Phillip Wain, the opening ceremony succeeded in generating energy and created a feeling of excitement among all there. After all, those that know the company well could not expect any less.' Hurrah! Those rousing words conclude Phillip Wain's appraisal of its latest health club opening in Park Lane Square, Tsim Sha Tsui. A mind-boggling affair, the opening ceremony kicked off with the arrival of the enormously entertaining Josie Ho and a band of rollerbladers, who descended from a brightly coloured bus. They were joined on the pavement by 15 cheerleaders during a triumphant 'parade' down the road. In keeping with the 'young and vibrant' theme, Josie also managed to burst the seams of her smart Phillip Wain leotard, provoking an equally vibrant reaction from boss Eddie Phillips. Meanwhile, Phillip Wain's plans for global (or at least regional) domination would appear to be on the right track. A whisper from the gym world has it that the club is offering life memberships to Phillip Wain establishments for a mere $800,000 and that these are proving popular with mainland Chinese customers.
