FORMER Coventry City midfielder Lloyd McGrath has been given the boot by Sing Tao.
Sing Tao have not been impressed by the 29-year-old, who has been shifted in defence, saying they will not extend his three-month contract, which ends in October.
Sing Tao convenor Kung Wing-yee said McGrath will be available to join any other Hong Kong club and the Tigers will look elsewhere for another foreign player.
McGrath made a disastrous debut when he scored an own goal in Happy Valley's 2-1 victory over Sing Tao.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong First Division side Golden will strengthen cultural and sporting ties that began two months ago when they take on a selection team from Vietnam in tonight's exhibition match at Mongkok Stadium.
But once on the pitch, both sides will concentrate on corner kicks and crosses rather than cultural exchanges with the $50,000 winners-take-all prizemoney at stake.
