B-SHARE volume in Shenzhen rebounded to HK$7 million yesterday although buying interest remained weak.

The Credit Lyonnais Shenzhen B Index fell 25.75 points, 2.04 per cent, to close at 1,235.39. The A-share index lost 166.39 points, or 9.5 per cent, to close at 1,585.14.

Port operator Shekou Port was the day's most active stock, gaining 5.5 per cent to $5.80 on trading worth $3.16 million.

'In terms of fundamentals, it is very attractive,' said Maurien Yau, senior analyst at DBS Securities.

The company has secured approval to obtain a secondary listing in Singapore.

Its favourable location on the east side of the Pearl River estuary makes the company well-placed to benefit from growth in Hong Kong and southern China.
