Are buses dangerously full?
AS a New Territories dweller for more than 10 years, travelling every day to and from school, I have noticed that this part of Hong Kong is becoming increasingly overcrowded.
This obviously puts pressure on public transport, which I would like to focus on. On all KMB buses there is a yellow line near the driver's seat. Next to it are the words, 'Do not stand beyond the yellow line.' What is the purpose of this line? In the morning and evening, these buses are full, with passengers crammed right up to the front entrance. Sometimes, the drivers have difficulty closing the front door.
Is this putting passengers at risk? If so, then I think KMB is duty-bound to do something about this.
