BRITISH Armed Forces Minister Nicholas Soames will this morning be briefed by senior officers on the state of the British Garrison at the start of his four-day visit to Hong Kong. Mr Soames, who looked relaxed after a 13-hour flight from London yesterday, is staying at Government House during his visit. This afternoon, he will tour Stonecutters Island, visiting the Royal Navy and Hong Kong Military Service School. Tomorrow morning, he travels by helicopter to the Royal Air Force base at Sek Kong, where he is expected to give a press conference. Later, he will go to the Cassino Lines barracks as the guest of the 1st Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles. And on Wednesday, he will meet Hong Kong Government officials before flying to Brunei in the evening.
