HONG KONG'S trade policies and practices will be reviewed by the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) Council in Geneva this month.
The review is part of a trade policy review mechanism under GATT which is designed to promote the transparency of the key trade policies and practices of its members. Hong Kong, which has been a separate contracting party to GATT since 1986, is reviewed under this mechanism every four years.
