Girl, 15, kept tied to bed in sex attack

A 15-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl was tied to a bed for more than 24 hours, during which she was half-stripped and repeatedly indecently assaulted, the High Court heard yesterday.

Lee Tak-ming, who claimed he picked the girl as his victim because she looked like his former girlfriend, pleaded guilty to one count of false imprisonment and three of indecent assault.

After being told that a psychiatrist for the defence had found Lee to be suffering from severe mental disturbance, Mr Justice Duffy agreed to call for a medical report and deferred sentencing to October 25.

Lee's behaviour was outrageous and if there was a psychiatric explanation for such conduct, it ought to be explored, the judge said.

Lee, 30, was originally indicted on two counts of attempted rape and one count each of false imprisonment and indecent assault.

However, on the judge's advice, the Crown decided to drop the attempted rape charges and substituted them with indecent assault.
