Woman raped and robbed in her office

A WOMAN was raped after being robbed by two men in her Sha Tin office, the High Court heard yesterday.

Lighting technician Cheung Shing, 37, pleaded guilty to rape and two counts of robbery. Mr Justice Leong adjourned sentencing to a later date.

Prosecutor Wayne Moultrie said the woman was about to leave her office on September 20 last year when Cheung rushed in with an accomplice.

They tied the victim to a chair before taking $100 and a bank card from her.

The accomplice left with the card which was later used to withdraw $6,000 from the woman's account.

Cheung stayed behind. He threatened the woman before pushing her on to a table and raping her.

Mr Moultrie said the rape and robbery, and an earlier robbery of two men on July 22, took place in industrial buildings in Sha Tin where the victims worked.

In the earlier robbery Cheung and two accomplices made off with $2,700 in cash, a $2,000 gold bracelet and a portable telephone.
