THE only survivor of the Hercules crash still in Hong Kong recovered slightly yesterday but doctors said he was still in a bad condition at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Joseph Hermanus Tepilatu, 40, an Indonesian cabin attendant, was critically injured in the crash a fortnight ago which claimed six lives and injured five.

However, yesterday his condition was described as 'ill', a slight improvement on his critical condition since the crash.

Witnesses to the accident have been asked to come forward to give evidence. Notices were recently placed in newspapers asking people who were either at the airport at the time or who saw the plane dive into the sea, to contact the Civil Aviation Department (CAD).

The plane was returning to Jakarta where the operators Pelita Air Services are based when the accident happened.
