YOUNG English ace Darryll Holland is prepared to ride in Hong Kong until the end of the season if he signs a deal with former champion trainer Brian Kan Ping-chee this week.

'I don't want to look back in a few years and regret that I didn't stay on in Hong Kong so that I could go back to England and ride there. I am young and my future is ahead of me.

'I have been enjoying Hong Kong enormously and I am getting on well with everybody and riding winners,' he said.

But Holland, a former champion apprentice of Britain, has details to iron out with Kan before he replaces South African Felix Coetzee as stable jockey from the end of November.

Kan is keen to have Holland and the 22-year-old rider wants to stay - but there are living and financial arrangements to sort out.

'I am hoping everything will be resolved and I am sure that I can work very well with Brian. From what has been said so far, he will also let me ride plenty of horses outside the stable and that is important,' said Holland.
