A RECORD number of Spanish footwear manufacturers will be displaying their wares at the Hong Kong International Footwear Fair.
Spanish participation in the annual trade show will more than double for this year's event.
Fifty-two of the nation's companies will be represented at the October 27-30 fair.
'It is a record presence for Spanish companies at any Hong Kong trade fair,' Cecilia Sell, chief trade officer at the Spanish Trade Commission in Hong Kong, said.
The Spanish Pavilion is so well supported that it is exhibiting at two locations.
Explaining the increased participation, the Spanish Trade Commissioner in Hong Kong, Juan Maria Portillo, said: 'They wish to develop brand awareness and a long-lasting relationship with clients.' Spain's trade in footwear to Hong Kong is booming. In the first six months of this year, imports were up by 122 per cent.
