Department claim surprising

ON October 1, I wrote a very strongly-worded objection to the Director of Lands regarding the proposed reclamation of Yung Shue Wan Harbour.

I then received an acknowledgment of the receipt of my letter, dated October 4, informing me that the complaint was 'receiving attention'.

Imagine my surprise, then, upon reading in an article in your newspaper (October 8) about a planned demonstration to protest against said project, in which a spokesman for the Lands Department claimed to have received no complaints regarding this ill-considered plan.

I assure you they have and will continue to do so.
