Kwok wakes up to snatch Sogo spoils

JET-LAGGED Jason Kwok awoke just in time to help partner Tony Taylor scoop top honours in the Sogo Pairs tournament at Discovery Bay Golf Club yesterday.

Less than 48 hours after returning from France, Kwok overslept and did not join Taylor until the fifth hole. The pair finished with a round of 69 and 39 gross points in the better-ball stableford event to pip Lau Kwong-hon and Siu Kam-pui on a countback.

In the Open section, Chu Shun-cheong and Liu Wai-tong won the nett prize with 48 points.

In the category for companies, Asian Golfer duo Simon Wilson and Spencer Robinson won the gross prize with 32 points and the Malaysian Commission duo of Syed Abdul Hamid and Ibrahim Mahamood took the neet prize with 40 points.
