BLACK is back with several exciting new additions to MCM's handbag and suitcase lines.

'Black is forever, it is suitable for the winter and easy to match with any outfit,' Annie Chan, the marketing manager, said.

'Relief Noir is part of our classical line and we have introduced several new designs this season to add variety to your winter wardrobe.' Comprising a wide array of travel bags, business bags and fashion bags, the range has a coal-black surface subtly embossed with the MCM motif and conspicuously accented by the distinctive MCM brass plate.

'The MCM logo has historical implications as it is actually the Roman numeral for the year 1900, a special year as it was the beginning of the era of travel. But, in modern terms, it also represents Michael Cromer Munich, the company headquarters,' Ms Chan said.

Chief designer Michael Cromer was formerly an actor and his creative talents are clearly in evidence throughout the collection.

'The brass plate is a personalised touch because the number on each one is unique and the customer's name and initials can be engraved on it.

'As women are becoming more and more independent and enjoying their individuality, the engraved logos are increasing the bags' appeal,' she said.
