ABN AMRO Bank has appointed Michiel de Jong as vice-president and deputy general manager in Hong Kong and Rita Chan as vice-president and treasurer.

  Mr de Jong joined ABN Bank, one of the predecessors of ABN AMRO, in 1986.

    Miss Chan, who was born in Hong Kong, has more than 18 years of international experience in treasury.

   Prior to joining ABN AMRO Bank, she was treasurer at Banco Espanol de Credito.

  FEDERAL Express has promoted Sussy Chako to senior marketing manager, South Pacific and Middle East, based in Singapore.

  She will have overall responsibility for the management and strategic planning of the marketing division in these areas. She was previously marketing manager for Hong Kong, China and Macau. CANADIAN Eastern Life Assurance Ltd has appointed three senior executives to its management team.

  Charity Au becomes head of operations, Peter Lai head of information technology, and Maisie Lo head of the general insurance division.

  Ms Au will be responsible for formulating policies and strategies on underwriting, claims and policy owners' services.

  Mr Lai's main responsibility will be to develop and maintain the company's computer systems, user management liaison and technological development.

  Ms Lo will provide clients with a wider range of insurance services.

 KUNIHITO Okudera has been transferred by the Fuji Bank Ltd in Hong Kong from assistant general manager of the money market department to assistant general manager of the foreign exchange department.

   Kiyoshi Mizuno has been transferred from head office to become assistant general manager of the money market department at the Hong Kong branch.

  MARTIN Kwong has been appointed director of consulting engineers Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick based in Hong Kong.

  He has been involved in many of the firm's structural engineering and industrial projects in Hong Kong and China.

  CCN Network, the publisher of China Commercial News, has appointed Richard Parkinson as the advertising manager for its bi-monthly magazine.

  The English-language magazine was launched last March and prints about 10,000 copies.

 EDS Electronic Data Systems (Hong Kong) has named Steve Lam as its director of sales for the communication industry group.

   He will be responsible for developing the company's business in the telecommunications industry in Hong Kong, China and Macau by formulating business objectives and sales strategies.

  He was previously business unit manager with Digital Equipment Hong Kong Ltd.

  DATAPOINT Asia-Pacific has appointed Samuel Lee as regional sales manager.

  He will help to develop the company's sales and marketing activities with particular emphasis on its Davox telephone call centre management product range.

     He was previously senior account manager for Jardine Office Systems and marketing executive for Chevalier (Data Systems) Ltd.

 EU Yan Sang (Hong Kong) Limited has appointed Patricia Foong as public relations and marketing manager and Lam Yu-kee as quality administration officer to strengthen its marketing and production operations.

  Ms Foong will be responsible for the development of marketing strategies and programmes for existing and new products.

   Mr Lam will be responsible for overseeing and supervising the daily operation of Eu Yan Sang's factory and ensuring and maintaining the quality of products.

 JULIA Lui has been appointed director of the residential agency at Colliers Jardine with responsibility for overall sales and leasing matters of residential properties in the territory.

   Ms Lui was educated in Hong Kong and joins the company after a 17-year period with the Hopewell Group.

  Paul Anderson has joined the company as director of the industrial department.

  THE Omnilink Marketing Group, based in Singapore, has appointed Wu Swee-sin as business development manager of the Asia-Pacific region for its newly established Hong Kong office.

  Mr Wu will be responsible for the acquisition of products representation and will market the company's products across the Asia-Pacific region.

  WO Kee Hong Group has promoted Philip Chan Wan-ting to general manager (China operations) in the business development department.

   He will be responsible for the co-ordination and management activities of the China office operations.

  Joseph Wong Tik-tung has been promoted to general manager of the finance division.

  Mr Wong will be responsible for overseeing the group's financial and accounting matters.

  Mabel Kwan Yuet-seung has been promoted to group public relations manager.

  She will be responsible for handling the group's communications activities.

  ASSURANCES Generales De France (HK) Ltd has appointed Nathalie Moisy as a senior marketing executive.

   Her role will be to further develop insurance business, particularly from the French community, for both personal and business lines.

  THE Gates Rubber Company has appointed Wayne Clark as managing director of its Asia-Pacific operations.

  Mr Clark, who joined the firm in 1975, will be based in Tokyo.

 RICHARD Pearce has joined Nomura International as managing director with overall responsibility for the worldwide distribution of Nomura's Asia-Pacific equity product.

  He was formerly managing director at SBCI Finance Asia and Merrill Lynch.

   Michael Green has joined Nomura as head of research in Hong Kong.

   He was previously director of SG Warburg in Hong Kong and head of research at Jones Lang Wootton.
