Staff toilets satisfactory

I REFER to S. Lam's letter headlined, ' 'Staff only' toilets smell bad' (South China Morning Post, October 10), concerning a bad smell coming from the 'staff toilets' on the Star Ferry's World Star, travelling between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central.

A health inspector of this department inspected the staff toilets on board the ferry on October 12 when the hygienic condition was found to be satisfactory and no bad smell was detected.

Nevertheless, the management of the Star Ferry Company, was advised to maintain the toilets on board its ferries in a clean and nuisance-free state at all times.
