SPORTING associations unable to comply with the Hong Kong Sports Institute's demands may find themselves out in the cold.
The institute's new director, Dr Dennis Whitby, is currently negotiating with all the major associations as Hong Kong sport begins another four-year cycle leading up to the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok.
But Whitby said associations unwilling to give their total support to the institute may find themselves left out of the Sha Tin complex's future programmes.
'Basically, we are meeting with the associations to discuss where we are going in the next four years,' Whitby said.
'We have to establish which sports are happy with what they are doing with the institute and which ones are not happy and question whether we should continue helping them.
'There are some sports which we are supporting but are not producing. Next month we will be making a commitment to certain sports but others may not agree with what we are doing.
