DOZENS of cars came to a standstill in Central yesterday and did not move an inch all day.
But this was not the gridlock that everyone has been dreading. Instead, the Classic Car Club of Hong Kong reclaimed Chater Road for the day.
Many exhibits were limited editions, appearing publicly only on special occasions.
But lawyer Rupert Spicer treats his 1954 Bentley in a fashion sure to horrify the purists. 'It is my only car so I use it like anyone else would,' he said.
'During the social season I use it every day. I've moved furniture in it - you can fit two or three chairs in the back.' But for buyers looking to make a statement there was only one place to be - Repulse Bay, where Ferrari unveiled its latest model, the F355 GTS.
The red streak accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. And the cost? At least $2 million.
