TVB (USA) has announced plans for a December 1 launch of a 24-hour satellite service across the United States, offering optional Cantonese or Mandarin soundtrack.

The Jade Channel Satellite Service will greatly enlarge the TVB (USA) coverage, which provides 12 hours of programming to cable systems in San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Later, the company plans to offer one channel exclusively for Mandarin, and one for Cantonese.
Philip Tam, TVB (USA) senior vice-president, said: 'We are committed to providing TVB-produced news, dramas and variety shows to the Chinese-speaking population [which] continues to grow in size and importance.'
