SHINJI Fujiyoshi scored the winning goal three minutes into the first extra period yesterday as Verdy Kawasaki beat the Nagoya Grampus Eight 2-1 and retook the second-stage lead from Bellmare Hiratsuka in the J.League.
Verdy are now 14-4, while Bellmare fell to 13-5 after losing to the Yokohama Flugels. Four games remain in the season.
After receiving a pass from Brazilian Bismarck, Verdy captain Ruy Ramos, a Brazilian-born Japanese, booted in the tying shot from the middle of the penalty area 32 minutes into the second half at Todoroki, outside Tokyo.
