DESPITE a heavy study workload and the demands of heading the school's student association, Arthur Chan Cheuk of St Bonaventure College remains a champion swimmer.

The Form Six student, who won the Grade A title at the school's 20th swimming gala recently, has been winning the title since Form Two.

'I only missed it last year, but I expected to make a big comeback this year,' he said, adding that his experience and skills guaranteed a good performance in the meet.

Being the chairman of the student body means taking up increased responsibilities at school, but Arthur said he could still take some time off to practise swimming.

'I practise for one to three days a week, each session lasting over an hour. But I am quite flexible about it because I no longer train with the swimming club and I do not have to follow a fixed schedule. This enables me to allocate the time I need to spend in each activity properly,' he said.

Despite the many trophies he had won over the years in various swimming meets, the champion said he was not a 'natural' sportsman.
