Aussie TV to run subtitles

AUSTRALIA Television said yesterday selected programmes would carry subtitles in English in direct response to viewer demand. They will include current affairs show Four Corners , drama series and Open Learning units.

Chief executive Michael Mann said the move would help viewers who wished to perfect their English by allowing them to read and hear the spoken word on television.
