A TEENAGER fell to his death after trying to climb down the outside of a tower block from the 34th floor, the Coroner's Court heard yesterday. Chan Cheuk-wing, 19, climbed out of the window of his home at 1 am and began clambering down by holding on to a gas pipe. The court heard he descended two storeys but then lost his grip and plunged 32 floors to his death. The accident occurred on March 30 at the Hin Yeung Estate, Sha Tin. Coroner Ian Carlson said: 'I am now none the wiser as to why this young man climbed out of his parents' home.' The court heard that after the teenager's death a neighbour said he had seen him climb out of the window six years earlier. Mr Carlson said the teenager had been a hard working apprentice air-conditioning engineer. He returned a verdict of accidental death.
