RANGERS celebrated their first league triumph last night by beating Kui Tan 2-1 at Mongkok Stadium.
The most expensive Chinese player in the territory, Tam Siu-wai, proved his worth when he scored the winner 16 minutes from time.
He took a pass from British teammate Steve O'Shaughnessy 10 yards from goal and blasted the ball home.
The midfielder also set up Rangers' first goal when his corner from the right was sent on New Zealander Darren Fellows for team captain Yan Lik-kin to score in the ninth minute.
Kui Tan's young left winger Chan Chi-hong showed his talent 15 minutes after interval, outpacing the Rangers' defence before slotting the ball home.
This apart, Kui Tan failed to give the Rangers goalkeeper any genuine challenge, which failed to impress their chairman Fred Ng Chi-keung.
