HON had to be given special protection in prison after he was beaten up by fellow inmates, it was revealed yesterday. Hon, once a high-flying businessman, has also received several threats in Stanley Prison where he is serving 15 years for manslaughter. His lawyer told Mr Justice Leonard: 'He has been subjected to one assault and a number of threats. What is clear is this man is going to have a very, very difficult time in prison throughout a very long sentence.' It is understood Hon was beaten up by half a dozen other inmates in August. After the assault, he was given special protection for two months, but has since asked to have it withdrawn.
