Swedish singer gives her best
WITNESSING a car crash was not how Swedish singer Jennifer Brown had hoped to start her first visit to Hong Kong. The incident left her shaken - at least for a while.
The 21-year-old singer was sitting in a hotel coffee room, looking out of the window while talking to Young Post, when suddenly she screamed: 'Oh my God! That car just hit a man.' It took more than 10 minutes for the obviously terrified singer to regain her composure. The accident brought back memories of a similar incident in her childhood.
'I was 14 when I fell down a long, ragged slope while cycling. It left my arm broken and my face completely destroyed. The incident still terrifies me,' explained Jennifer, who was here to promote her debut album Giving You the Best.
Jennifer may not be that well known in Hong Kong, but her debut album has been topping European pop charts since February.
The first two singles Heaven Come Down and My Everything gave Jennifer the chance to sing her way to Asian hearts.
Her promotion showcase not only brought her to Tokyo, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, but also offered her an opportunity to learn a bit more about Asians.
'They are polite and kind, but the language barrier sometimes hinders communication.' Born and brought up in Gothenburg, Sweden, Jennifer developed a profound interest in music when her parents started playing records of Marvin Gaye and Jennifer Holliday at home.
