IT WAS an exciting day for over 1,000 students who attended the Sai Kung Sung Tsun Secondary School sports day at Tang Shiu Kin Stadium in Sai Kung recently. After the opening ceremony conducted by school supervisor Reverend N. Vigano and principal S.C. Chan, the exciting events commenced. Competition was keen as students took part in various events with enthusiasm. The highlights of the day included the inter-class, inter-club and teacher-and-student relays. Tao Shan Association College, Ng Wah College Secondary School, Cheng Chek Chee Secondary School as well as the former students of Sung Tsun competed in the invitation relays. Records were broken in the boys' open triple jump, girls' Grade C shot put and boys' open 3,000 metres race. The cheerleading teams of the school's four Houses gave their support to the athletes by chanting slogans throughout the day's competitions. In his speech to the students, guest-of-honour Ng Sze-fuk, chairman of the Sai Kung District Board, emphasised the importance of modesty, love, diligence and honesty, which is also the motto of the school.
