Agility Logistics is the latest shipping and transport-related firm to relocate from Hong Kong to Singapore.

The company, which is among the 10 largest logistics operators in the world, will transfer nine senior executives when it moves its Asia-Pacific headquarters in June.

These include chief executive Hans Hickler and marketing director Toby Edwards. The regional ocean and air freight businesses will also relocate to Singapore. Its business in Hong Kong and the mainland, where it has an extensive presence, is unlikely to be directly affected.

The company joins firms such as rival logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel, Swire shipping company, China Navigation, and shipbroking house Clarksons, which have moved their headquarters or substantial operations to Singapore from Hong Kong over the past 18 months.

Insurance company Swiss Re moved its marine business to Singapore from Hong Kong in 2009, while shipbroker Howe Robinson and the marine services division of Rolls-Royce have both moved their headquarters from London to Singapore in the past two years.

News of Agility's move has already been discussed by some of the family and friends of those affected on Twitter and it is expected to be officially confirmed shortly.
