INSTANT-Dict striker Eddie Gallagher broke his goal duck in sensational fashion last night as his hat-trick sunk Kui Tan at Mongkok Stadium.
The small but fast Scottish frontman had waited two months to get his name on the scoresheet - and his solo effort gave last term's runners-up their first league victory of the season as they desperately battle to make up lost ground on joint leaders Eastern and South China.
However, it was right-winger Ng Kam-hung who set Instant on the road to victory as he headed home left winger Lam Hing-lun's cross in the eighth minute.
Kui Tan stunned Instant 14 minutes later when midfielder Yeung Ching-kwong converted a clever pass from Yeung Hei-chi - but that signalled the end of their hopes as Gallagher took over.
So determined were Instant to record their first league success, that they fielded all five foreign outfield players.
Sean Edwards, so often left on the bench this term, was given the chance to prove his worth and took full advantage as he laid on the pass for Gallagher to curl home his first and Instant's second in the 35th minute.
But Gallagher had the fast-raiding Lam Hing-lun to thank for setting up his other goals.
