Thomas and his locomotive friends return to the big screen in this latest high-speed adventure.
A particular kind of wood is needed to build a new Search and Rescue Centre on the island of Sodor. But the special red jobi logs needed for the job are seemingly only to be found on Hiro's Island. All the engines are eager to help deliver them to the centre.
Arrogant and overzealous as ever, Diesel thinks he can do a better job than the rest of the team in transporting the logs. But when he loses control and goes off the tracks, it is up to Thomas to save him. However his precious cargo of jobi logs falls into the sea. Now the Search and Rescue Centre has no wood left to complete construction.
For his heroism, Thomas is rewarded with a visit to the mainland. But along the way he gets lost and ends up on the mysterious Misty Island. He makes three new friends there: Bash, Dash and Ferdinand. He also makes a startling discovery. Misty Island has lots of jobi wood. Now all Thomas needs is to find a way to transport the wood back to Sodor.
