TVB actor Wayne Lai Yiu-cheung smoothly handled his first horse-related job to plug a racing event on Monday, being the event ambassador for the BMW Champions Mile at Sha Tin. Maybe becoming a horse owner will be the next step for him?
'Sure I want to have a horse of my own,' said Lai (pictured with wife Julia) at the event. 'But I can only dream of it now. I can't afford it just yet.'
Having various best TV actor awards under his belt should have got him the key to the club of the rich and famous but the humble Lai said he had to work even harder. 'There's still a long way to go for me,' he said.
However, it's not a dream for him to get close to the horses - Lai and his wife picked up horse riding years ago.
'We both learned the basics. I even bought full sets of horse riding gear for my wife and I,' Lai said.
'There were kids learning horse riding in our class as well. They looked so cute. So I wanted my son to learn. But he's not interested and I won't force him.'
